MACHINE SHOP ENGINEER
This position reports supports the HPWT Leader in the facilitation of a manufacturing cell, focused factory, or production team in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals. Coordinates with all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively implements, promotes and maintains a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, consistent policy enforcement and good corporate citizenship.
• Trouble-shoot all technical issues related to machine shop products.
• Perform CNC programming for tooling and production machined components.
• Train existing and new machinist on the use and maintenance of all the machineries in the department.
• Lead effort to in source production machined components and critical production tooling such as rollers and die set.
• Coaches employees and teams to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.
• Know your customers (internal and external) Be proactive and responsive, Keep your promises, and Create value (KBKC).
• Supports HPWT VSL to drive the company’s vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values and quality policies throughout their area of responsibility
• Leads, measures and monitors continuous improvement programs through EBS
• Drives 5S culture by improving and maintaining the cleanliness, safety and organization of the work area
• Actively drives and participates in Eaton Lean System (ELS) initiatives. Ensure the success of Machine Shop VSM efforts.
• Ensures that self and team fully participate in the assessment process, including discussion and surveys
• Perform any other task that may be assigned by the manager.
Specialized Skills/Knowledge :
• Highly knowledgeable in Machining process and programming.
• Stamping experience is a value add to this position
• Knowledgeable in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Techniques. Candidates with Six Sigma Green belt and above certification will be preferred.
Basic Qualifications :
• Technical Diploma (D3) or Equivalent Technical Certifications, Bachelor Degree (S1) is preferred
• Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tool sets as they relate to production management
• At least 5 years of practical machining experience with both manual and CNC machining
